Hey everyone,
Essence cosmetics as far as I remember was launched in Mumbai somewhere in 2013 as far as I remember because when I went through a blog and saw the products, I made my mind to try them. In one of my shopping trips I had picked up 4 products - mascara, smokey eye brush, single eye shadow and gel eye liner which I am loving so much and will review the gel eye liner sometime. In fact I was one of the selected bloggers who was talking about Essence and it was only available on medplus beauty then. Anyhow I am excited to bring you a lipstick today from Essence which is essentially a European brand. Today I shall be reviewing the Essence Long Lasting Lipstick in Dare to Wear. What does the brand say about the lipstick:
Longlasting love… you simply have to fall in love with the longlasting lipsticks by essence. the lipsticks provide your lips with intensive color for several hours without drying them out. you’re sure to find whatever you’re looking for – from bright pink to intensive red and chilled-out berry to subtle nude shades. the essence logo on the texture and the matt, black packaging with a ring of color to match the actual color of the lipstick are true eye-catchers!
The lipstick comes in a black tube packaging. Nothing is printed on the tube except a sticker telling the basic information. The shade name is mentioned at the bottom of the tube. The cap click locks and is sturdy hence can be termed as travel friendly. The best part is each lipstick has a strip in the centre where you close the cap. The color of the lipstick matches the color of the band so if you have many you can easily spot and pick the one you are looking for.
The lipstick has the Essence E logo engraved on it, How cool right? The lipstick has a faint smell which will not bother sensitive noses. The shade is a blue based red with a hint of pink to it. The lipstick is smooth and decently creamy. You may have to swipe more than once to get the desired opaqueness. It is very moisturizing and contains no shimmer. It is transferrable as it is creamy but that is ok in my opinion all lipsticks do.I would suggest using a lip liner with it for a fuller pout although I do not like lip liners that much. The lipstick stays for a good 5 hours with meals in between and leaves a faint red tint on the lips. I like this lipstick already for the price and the fact it is a cruelty free brand would make me buy more stuff from them in future.
The Good:
Inexpensive
Easily available online and in stores
Matte black sturdy packaging
The shade swatch is on the bullet itself
Creamy & moisturizing
Decently pigmented
Long lasting
Does not bleed
Application is even
Does not settle into fine lines or accentuate them
Cruelty free
Travel friendly
The not so Good:
Transfers on cups and glasses due to creamy texture
Rating: 4.5/5
Essence Long Lasting Lipstick in Dare to Wear is a lovely pigmented and moisturizing blue based red lipstick with a hint of pink to it. It is long lasting and cruelty free. It will also suit most skin tones. Hence I highly recommend this shade and this line of lipsticks to everyone.
